Pakistan won the thriller against Sri Lankans and 2-0 up the home side!

Sri Lanka today had nothing to do with the toss as Pakistan won it and chose to bat first but this was a harder pitch for the batsmen to enjoy but Pakistan with their solid bowling unit believed whatever they get they’ll defend it and made to 219/9 in 50 overs which is hard to be chased down in Abu Dhabi.

Sri Lanka though bowled early overs getting Pakistan 5 wickets down inside 30 overs but a brilliant partnership between Shadab Khan and Babar Azam of 109 runs which took the game away.

Babar Azam with his 101 runs and Shadab Khan with his unbeaten 52. Sri Lanka on the other hand on a tough surface that too against Pakistani bowlers made look the pitch more tougher than it looks as Rumman Raees, Junaid Khan, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik all among the wickets (except Imad Wasim). Sri Lanka didn’t loose too many wickets at the start but they were stuck.

Couldn’t score freely at any stage of the game and salting into the wood in the middle overs as Sri Lanka lost 5 wickets in span of 36 balls which completely took the game away coming from 70/3 to 94/7. Shadab Khan was the damager as he came in the middle picking up 3 wickets in 4 overs.

But, SriLankans did not give up as their captain Upul Tharanga was still out there seeing the assault of Pakistani bowlers had no answer but to see his partners going and coming.

But he did find someone with whom he built a threatening partnership and he was Jefrey Vendarsay who scored 22 off 55 balls. Upul Tharanga though got a magnificent ton on a difficult surface of 111 not out but had no partner who could at least stand as supportive batsman.

At the end Sri Lanka falling short of 32 runs getting bowled for 187 runs with Upul Tharanga scoring 111 of that team total. Shadab Khan for his magnificent all rounder performance 52 runs with the bat and 3 wickets with the ball has been rewarded the man of the match.

2-0 up the Pakistanis!
